Business visa
ORDINARY BUSINESS VISAS
Ordinary business visas are issued to foreign citizens entering the Russian Federation for business purposes.
An ordinary business visa may be single-entry or double-entry with a validity period of up to three months, or multiple-entry with a validity period of up to one year (unless otherwise stipulated by an international treaty of the Russian Federation).
The stay of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation on a multiple-entry ordinary business visa must not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.
Grounds for issuing an ordinary business visa:
An invitation to enter the Russian Federation, issued by the Consular Department (CD) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) or a territorial body of the Main Directorate for Migration Affairs (GUVM) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) in accordance with Russian legislation on a secure standardized form, including a printed electronic invitation from the GUVM MVD received via email;
A directive from the CD MFA of Russia to issue a visa upon application, sent via email or fax to the Consular Office (KZU);
A direct written request (invitation) from a host Russian organization (if stipulated by an international treaty of the Russian Federation) (download sample);
A decision by the head of a diplomatic mission or consular office, made in exceptional cases based on a written application from a foreign citizen intending to enter Russia for business purposes. In such cases, the application must be accompanied by an invitation (in any form) from a Russian organization, as the visa must specify the host organization.
Required documents for obtaining an ordinary business visa:
One of the above-listed grounds for visa issuance;
A valid passport + its copy (at least 2 blank pages for visas; passport validity must extend 6 months beyond the visa expiration date);
A completed and printed visa application form: https://visa.kdmid.ru;
One passport-sized photograph (3.5x4.5 cm);
Medical insurance policy (required for citizens of: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Estonia).
For applicants not citizens of Rwanda:
Permit for continuous residence in Rwanda valid for more than 180 days.
